Walt Disney World is bringing back a new form of Grad Nite, the high school graduation event that ended in 2011. This hard ticket event, held after the park closed, began in 1972 and was previously held at the Magic Kingdom. This year, Grad Nite will be held at Typhoon Lagoon.
“Disney Grad Night H2O” will give high school seniors and their chaperones access to Typhoon Lagoon from 8:00pm-12:00am on one Friday in April; the choices are April 7, 21, and 28. Cost will be $55 per person and tickets can be purchased through students’ high schools. The attractions will be open, there will be DJ dance parties, character meet and greets, and food and unlimited drinks with a commemorative souvenir mug. Add on a Walt Disney World theme park ticket for a discounted price of $70.
Andrea Finger, Walt Disney World spokeswoman, said, “We’re always looking for ways to help guests celebrate their special milestones, and we know our guests like to celebrate their high-school graduation at Walt Disney World Resort. With this in mind, we are reimagining this special event and introducing a new way for high school seniors to celebrate their achievements with friends and classmates.”
