Ghoulish Garments, Haunting Headwear, and Creepy Collectibles Hit the Shelves This Disney Halloween Season

Halloween lives and dies by its costumes and decorations, so naturally (or supernaturally?) Disney puts quite a bit of effort into designing wearable and displayable All Hallow’s art. This year there are plenty of new and unique options that celebrate Disney in spooky style.

We ran across a few of the new items ourselves, but let’s start out with what the Disney Parks Blog highlighted recently. The DPB’s Steven Miller spoke with David Keefer, principal designer with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group, who shed some darkness on what the inspiration for this year’s Halloween merchandise was. Keefer explained,

“This year’s Halloween art was inspired by Halloween images and graphics from the 1960s. We used bold graphics with lots of bright colors. Guests will also find familiar Halloween icons, such as pumpkins, bats, and black cats, hidden throughout the art. I love how the artwork captures the Disney characters enjoying the spirit of this spooky season.”

As you may notice from the top right featured shirt, one of the many amazing shirt designs above, each Disney character is associated with their own vivid celebratory color.

Of course the wearable options don’t end at shirts. As always, Disney has created a fine selection of pins, headbands, and hats.

Once you’re decked out for the holiday, it’s time to make sure you Mansion is sufficiently haunted. Do that by grabbing yourself a pumpkin coffee mug, a towel set, a foam wall Mickey, or the newest version of the Halloween countdown clock.

Don’t forget the functional purchases, either. You’ll need a glow-in-the-dark pumpkin cloth treat bag to store and see your goodies, and you’ll need one of these bangles by Alex and Ani to look good while you are carrying it. Looking good is a function, right?

Here are some of the products that caught our eye as we were perusing the Halloween decorations in the Magic Kingdom a short time ago:
