Disney Shares First Movie Trailer of Upcoming Live-Action ‘Dumbo’ Film

Tim Burton’s live-action reimagination of Dumbo is set to hit theatres in March of 2019 and today, the studio has shared the first film trailer which gives us a good idea of how the film will look and feel.

The animated classic was originally released in 1941 and is Disney’s shortest animated film at only 64-minutes long. In Tim Burton’s adaptation, he’s expanded on the story of the baby elephant with enlarged ears who, with the help of his friend, Timothy Mouse, learns to fly.

Live-Action Dumbo Teaser Poster

The Dumbo teaser offers a new version of the classic tune from the movie, ‘Baby Mine,’ performed by Norwegian singer-songwriter, Aurora. The song is sure to be a familiar tear-jerker to many viewers who will surely remember Mrs. Jumbo singing it to baby Dumbo through the bars of her cage. The live-action Dumbo looks as though it will be quite the tear-jerker. The teaser momentarily shows Dumbo’s mom being taken away in a circus wagon, and Dumbo being left scared and alone. Dumbo is all about overcoming all the odds and finding confidence in oneself, something that will surely resonate with the family audience.

Disney’s new live-action feature film Dumbo introduces Holt Farrier (Farrell), a former circus star who finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war. Circus owner Max Medici (DeVito) enlists Holt to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughing stock in an already struggling circus. But when Holt’s children discover that Dumbo can fly, persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Keaton) and an aerial artist named Colette Marchant (Green) swoop in to make the peculiar pachyderm a star.
