8 Unique Disney Gift Ideas

Starting to get sick of scrolling shopDisney as you search for the perfect present?

Whether you’re hunting for holiday gifts, wondering what to get a park fanatic for their birthday, or want to make your next anniversary extra special, these out-of-the-box ideas offer pixie dust without a gift shop price tag.

1. A Memory Book

Keep it simple with snapshots quickly tucked into a fun photo album, use a web service to create a customized book online, or go all-out with your efforts by crafting a scrapbook of your Disney adventures. No matter the route you take, it’s the memories that matter, so this gift will surely be treasured for years to come.

2. Punched Metal Jewelry

If a Mickey head or castle isn’t quite cutting it for your accessory standards, a punched metal design lets you customize. You could put the coordinates of a Disney park on a necklace, print a favorite Pixar movie quote on a bangle, or detail a keychain with the date of a special trip. Etsy offers a lot of options, but, if you’re handy, you might even be able to make your own with tools found at your local craft store.

3. Disney Stock

If cash is your go-to gift, try switching it up by gifting some stock in the Walt Disney Company. The cost of one share is currently hovering around $100, so it’s a little bigger than your average stocking-stuffer. They can cash in whenever they like, but in the meantime they’ll be able to say they’re a shareholder and maybe even make a profit if they choose to wait out some potential growth.

4. Homemade Coasters

Keeping your coffee table clean never looked so good! Maybe you have a few of those fun free coasters from resort rooms lying around that you can laminate at the craft store, but there’s no shame in cutting circles or squares out from a map (or print, or postcard, or anything of that nature) either. You can attach cork to make them more sturdy, then tie them together with ribbon for a fun presentation. Either way, this present is as practical as it is pleasant.

5. A Baking Basket

Our senses of smell and taste are powerful connectors to memory, so taking a bite of a familiar treat can take you right back to the middle of Main Street U.S.A. Whether your special someone loves churros, can’t get enough of that Ohana bread pudding, or is always talking about how much they miss Mickey beignets, they’re sure to smile when they see they can have them right at home! Tuck all of the necessary dry ingredients into bags or jars, add a fun baking or serving dish, and top it all off with a handwritten recipe note for a personalized gift basket that brings a day full of fun and food.

6. Tickets

Who doesn’t want to wake up on Christmas morning to a five day park-hopper? Ok, maybe that’s not in the budget this year, but you can still gift other Disney-centric experiences! Perhaps Disney on Ice is coming to town, maybe the city nearest you is hosting a production of Aladdin, or there might even be a symphony in the area doing a Star Wars tribute. Just because you can’t get to Orlando or Anaheim doesn’t mean you can’t have a day celebrating your favorite place in the world.

7. Antiqued Finds

For the collector in your life, you might just snag the ideal present after scouring thrift shops in your area. Of course, this is all dependent on what’s available in your local stores, but there are a lot of gems out there for Disney fans that are just another person’s trash. For example, I once found a four piece glassware set from the 90’s for only $2! The average shopper would probably scoff at those Mickey-adorned glasses, but I was ecstatic to take them home.

8. A Framed Park Map

Turn a freebie souvenir into art! Maybe you have a guide map from the first time you visited a Disney park with the recipient, or one from a few decades back for vintage charm – either way, it’ll instantly look sharp highlighted by matting and the frame of your choice. Maps are a staple in any Disney fan’s collection, but if you happen to have a postcard or print they’ll especially enjoy, that will work just as well.

These are just a few ideas to get you inspired to start shopping, but you know your friends and family best. What’s on everyone’s wish lists this year?
